Rosh Hashanah 5785 - October 3 & 4, 2024

Rosh Hashanah, literally the “head of the year” is the Jewish New Year. It is a time of inner renewal and divine atonement. This year 2024, Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Wednesday October 2nd.

It is customary to have big feasts on both nights of Rosh Hashanah. We eat apples dipped in honey for a sweet New Year. A special prayer book called a Machzor is used in synagogue.

The traditional greeting is L’Shana Tovah! May you have a good year!
